Treat varicose veins with
little or no scarring.

EVLT (endovenous laser treatment), also known as laser ablation, is a minimally invasive laser procedure for the treatment of large varicose veins. The procedure uses targeted laser energy to shrink and close the faulty vein so blood can’t flow through it. Unlike surgery, where large incisions are required, with EVLT there’s minimal scarring and the recovery period is shorter. Symptoms of venous reflux such as blue, bulging varicose veins, leg pain, swelling and fatigue can be reduced or eliminated.

How the procedure works.

EVLT is a simple procedure that’s performed in the doctor’s office. After a local anesthetic is administered, a laser fiber is inserted through a small needle into the vein that runs along the inner thigh. The laser is then slowly heated, causing the vein to collapse around it. The collapsed vein soon shrinks and disappears. Because the veins are superficial, they’re not important for transferring blood to the heart. The procedure is painless and takes about 30 to 45 minutes. After the procedure, you will wear a compression stocking for 7-14 days. You can resume all of your normal activities soon after the procedure.
